Poster Presentation

Presenters should prepare a poster (A0 size or smaller) of essential information. Several posters will be displayed on boards in a large room for approximately 90 minutes and presenters will be able to interact and discuss their poster with delegates in an informal manner.

Guidelines for poster presentation

  1. Size of poster: height: 3 ft. and width: 1.5 ft.
  2. Construct the poster to include the title, the author(s), affiliation(s), and a description of the research, highlighting the major elements that are covered in the abstract. Please see at the sample poster arrangements.
  3. Minimize detail and try to use simple and jargon-free statements.
  4. Remember that pictures, tables, and figures are amenable to poster display.
  5. If you can, use colour in your visuals.
  6. Make sure your lettering is neatly done and is large enough to be read from a distance.
  7. Consider using a flow chart or some other method of providing the viewer with a guide to inspecting your display.
  8. Do not overwhelm the viewer with excessive amounts of information; rather, construct a poster display that enhances conversation.
  9. Be ready to pin up and take down your poster at specified times.
  10. Be sure to bring enough thumbtacks with you. Please note that double sided tapes are NOT allowed.
